The various programmes and projects initiated by NIDS has caused to the uplift of the weaker sections of the people inhabited in the operational areas in the taluks of Neyyattinkara and Nedumangad. All the developmental programmes initiated by NIDS are developed at grassroots level and participatory manner after a series of deliberations. Participatory action programmes are the peculiarity of NIDS action programmes. Along with the action programmes NIDS is organizing animation programmes also for the people of the weaker sections of the society. This is because mere economic development is not sufficient for human development. The main aim of our animation process is to empower the people. Economic growth along with empowerment can only sustain the development and hence we are giving equal priority to economic programmes and animation programmes in our development programmes.
